3. Special categories of personal data

Because the CPN is a political party, the fact that you are a member, want to become one or contact us says something about your political opinions. Under the GDPR this is a special category of personal data, which receives extra protection.

We only process this data for our own political activities and only about members, former members and people who are in regular contact with us themselves (Art. 9(2)(d) GDPR), or with your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). We never pass this data on to anyone outside the party without your consent.

4. Minors

You can join the CPN from the age of 16. If you are younger than 16, we need permission from your parent or guardian before we process your data. If you believe we hold data about a minor without that permission, please contact secretariaat@cpn.nl and we will delete it.

5. Who we share data with

We never sell your data. We only share it with parties that help us run the website and the party administration (processors). We have agreements with them about security and confidentiality.

  • Mollie (the Netherlands): processing online payments.
  • Mailchimp (Intuit, United States): sending the newsletter.
  • hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, United States): protecting our forms against spam.
  • Google (United States): visitor statistics (Google Analytics, only with your consent) and YouTube videos (only with your consent).

Some of these parties are based outside the European Union. Data is only transferred when there is an appropriate safeguard, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Apart from this, we only disclose data when we are legally required to do so.

6. Cookies

Our website uses cookies. On your first visit we ask for your consent via the bar at the bottom of the page. Rejecting is just as easy as accepting, and you can change your choice at any time via Cookie settings.

Functional cookies (always)

Needed to make the website work, such as remembering your cookie choice (cpn_toestemming, 6 months) and your language. No consent is required for these.

Analytical cookies (only with consent)

With Google Analytics we measure how the website is used so we can improve it (_ga, _ga_*, up to 2 years). We do not use this data for advertising.

Cookies from embedded videos (only with consent)

YouTube or Vimeo videos are only loaded when you give consent or click “Load video” yourself. These services may then place cookies.

7. Automated decision-making

We do not take decisions made solely by computers that have (significant) consequences for you. A person is always involved.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • access your data;
  • have incorrect data corrected;
  • have your data deleted;
  • have the processing restricted;
  • object to the processing;
  • receive your data in a common file format (data portability);
  • withdraw your consent at any time.

Send your request to secretariaat@cpn.nl. We will respond within one month. To make sure the request comes from you, we may ask you to confirm your identity. Please do not send us a copy of your ID unless we ask for it.

9. Filing a complaint

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, please let us know. You also always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

10. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. The website uses a secure connection (https) and only authorised people within the party have access to personal data. If you think your data is not properly secured, or you see signs of misuse, please contact us immediately at secretariaat@cpn.nl.

11. Changes

We may update this privacy statement, for example when the law or the way we work changes. The latest version is always available on this page.
